Lots of new distilleries are built to be experimental in order to produce a variety of styles. Teaninich has infact being doing this for a long time. They are one of the only distilleries in Scotland to have a mash filter which creates a whole new mashing technique. They also have the capabilities to experiment with different cereal types such as rye and wheat. The most notable from of experimentation was in the Johnnie Walker Espresso Roast in which the chocolate malt came from Teaninich.
