DISTILLERIES OF SCOTLAND

Lochlea Distillery

Lowlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Region

Lowlands

Owner

Lochlea Distilling Co

Founded

2018 | Neil McGeoch

Lochlea was developed ‘beneath the radar’ by Neil McGeoch, owner of Lochlea Farm and whisky industry veteran Malcolm Rennie at the rural location just eight miles from the town of Kilmarnock. The farm boasts a fascinating heritage, with Scotland’s national bard Robert Burns living, farming, and writing there from 1777 to 1784. Production Director and Master Blender is John Campbell, formerly manager of Laphroaig distillery. Malting barley is grown on the farm and the first release of Lochlea whisky came in early 2022, followed by the core bottling Our Barley.
